From the village of Lynton, the main route to Lee Abbey is through this stunning valley with its majestic rock formations - and curious roundabout. For many, the valley is a great attraction in itself, and Lee Abbey could surely not have asked for a better entrance way!

Here, Exmoor National Park meets the Devon coast in breathtaking style. There is a wide variety of plants and animals, including red deer, badgers, foxes, stoats and bats. In the air you may see buzzards or Peregrine falcons. The most common sight in the valley itself is the mountain goats resting on the rocks.

Nearby Hollerday Hill and Southcliffe are just two of the natural beauty spots less than 15 minutes' walk from the Lee Abbey house, offering spectacular viewpoints and well-trodden footpaths.
The twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are linked by a water-powered cliff railway down the steep hillside. You can browse a rich selection of local crafts and other items in Lynton's shops, or maybe sit and enjoy a cream tea with a view in either of these traditional English seaside communities.
