Pete Wilcox. It used to be said that three subjects were taboo in polite conversation: sex, religion and politics. Take these out of the David story, and not much remains (except violence, on the battle-field and off it). The story of David is a story about power: about the use and abuse of power in his relations with women (sex), with God (religion) and with kings (politics). Pete Wilcox explores the story of David’s rise, to ask what it has to teach us about the challenge of living for God today.
Pete Wilcox is Canon Chancellor at Lichfield Cathedral. Ordained for twenty years, he has served for most of that time in parish ministry. He is passionate about helping others to encounter the Living God in the Scriptures. Pete is married to author Catherine Fox and they have two teenage boys.
