If you have a Palm or Pocket PC handheld computer, you can take the complete Lee Abbey Devon programme with you to refer to wherever you go! It includes programme descriptions and availability information for the whole year, automatically synchronised and updated with the main Lee Abbey website whenever you sync your PDA.
Here's how to set it up on your handheld:
If your Palm or Pocket PC can access the Internet directly, using wireless technology for example, simply direct it to the special Lee Abbey PDA site at www.leeabbey.org.uk/pda.
If not, first download and install the AvantGo software if you don't already have it. This allows your PDA to automatically download content from the Web every time you synchronise, so that it is available to read on your device at any time, even though the device may not be able to connect by itself.
Go to www.avantgo.com, and register or log in. At the top click Channels and then in the list on the left click Create Personal Channel. Now enter the following information:
Channel Title: Lee Abbey
Location: http://www.leeabbey.org.uk/pda/
Maximum Channel Size: 200 k
(The actual size of this channel may vary and currently lies around 100 K)
Link Depth: 3 (very important)
Include Images: yes
Follow off-site links: no
Refresh this channel: on every sync
(or according to your personal preference)
Click Save Channel, and synchronise your PDA.
To view the channel on your PDA at any time, tap AvantGo and select "Lee Abbey" from the list of available channels.
